Message from the Harbormaster:
In 2024 the town replaced the Harbormaster boat and trailer. The replacement vessel is a Proline, 17-foot center console, that was purchased from Hodgdon Yacht Services. The vessel is powered by a 70 HP Yamaha outboard engine and has updated electronics. It should provide the town with many years of service.
In 2024, the majority of Southport’s mooring owners utilized the Online Mooring site. As a reminder this, user-friendly, online solution was put in place in 2023 for our residents to:
• Submit mooring applications
• Review application status
• View customer data and mooring information
• Make payments • Identify mooring location / coordinates
• View waitlist information
• Provide links to the Southport Town website and Southport Harbormaster ordinances
Southport’s mooring fees will not change in 2025 and continue to be the lowest in the state of Maine.
Boat re-registrations can be done online at https://apps1.web.maine.gov/online/boat/
Written requests to remain on the Mooring Waiting List must be made by September 1st each year. They can be dropped off at the town office, mailed in, or sent to: southportharbormaster@gmail.com
Requests to remain on the Mooring Waiting List should be sent to: southportharbormaster@gmail.com
Finally, any permit holders who wish to continue the paper method of renewing their mooring permit can do so through the Town Office. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.
