POPE’S ISLAND MARINA RULES
The New Bedford Harbor Development Commission is the Governing body for Pope’s Island Marina. Any violation of the following rules by Owner or his/her Guests is cause for termination of berthing agreement.
1. Owners shall operate his/her vessel with due care. All damages must be reported to the office.
2. Piers are to be kept clear at all times. All power cords, dock lines, and water hoses should be neatly coiled.
3. Sub-leasing or use of this permit by other than the assigned boat is not permitted.
4. No commercial ventures of any kind, i.e., fishing parties, charters, leases, or renting shall be undertaken from this Marina without prior written approval of the Marina Manager.
5. No solicitation signs allowed on docks or boats without prior written approval of the Marina Manager.
6. Users are fully responsible for maintaining orderly conduct of themselves and their guests.
7. Running, swimming, fishing, diving, riding of bikes, roller blades, skates, skate boards, and scooters are not allowed on docks.
8. Children under 12 years of age must wear flotation gear at all times.
9. Boat owner is solely responsible for his/her vessel during a storm. PIM is not responsible for securing any vessel.
10. Pets are permitted but must be leashed at all times. No animals allowed in the restroom facilities. Boaters must clean up after their pet.
11. Boat Owners and their Guests must keep restroom areas clean.
12. No dinghies or dock boxes on the main dock.
13. Dinghies, up to 10 ft. belonging to slip owners, are allowed, at no charge, but are not to cause any disruption to abutting boats or docks.
14. Water shall not be wasted. All hoses shall have trigger type nozzles to stop water when not in use. Boat owner must shut off water supply to boat when not occupied to avoid possible leaks, etc.
15. For your security and the security of others, the gate to the parking lot must be kept closed at all times and there shall be no tampering with security system.
16. No cooking fires allowed on docks or on boats. Kitchen cooking is allowed.
17. PIM shall have the sole right to interpret, add to, or amend these rules.
