Instructions
Purpose:
All vessels “moored” in Danvers require mooring permit. A “moored vessel” is any vessel secured with approved bottom anchors and tackle. New applications are added to a waiting list.
Payment Methods:
Online (Credit Card):
We encourage all applicants to use our online program to submit and pay for waterways permits. Online payments are made by credit card using Stripe.
Mail or in Person (Check, Money Order or Postal Note):
If you prefer to pay by mail or in person, please complete the online application, print the summary page and send payment to: Danvers Harbormaster's Office, 8 Harbor St. Danvers, MA 01923. For mail or in person payments we will only accept money orders, postal notes or checks. Do not mail cash. Be sure to mail or deliver a copy of the permit summary page with your payment.
Permit Stickers:
Upon receipt of payment for permits, a permit sticker will be mailed to you within 5-10 business days. Permit stickers must be affixed to the port side window or port side cabin of your vessel prior to launching.
Boat Excise Tax:
Permits will not be issued to boat owners who have not fully paid applicable boat excise taxes.
Fees:
Waiting List Applications:
$6.00 flat fee
Mooring Permit Fee:
$5.00 per foot
PLUS
all vessels are assessed an annual waterway fee at a rate of $1.00 per foot for residents/$2.00 per foot for non-residents.
Late Fees:
The Town of Danvers assesses a 15% late fee for all payments and signed returns not received by the annual due date. This fee only applies to renewals.
