2. In assigning mooring locations, there is no discrimination on the basis of town of residence.
3. Before submitting a Mooring Waiting List application please consider:
a. The maximum length of a vessel to be moored is fifty feet
b. No person shall be assigned more than one mooring location,
c. No one household shall be permitted to use more than one mooring location,
d. Only one mooring location shall be assigned to any one vessel

5. You may submit an application for the Mooring Waiting List if you do not currently own a vessel registered in the State of Connecticut. You will be required to indicate on your Mooring Waiting List application the type, length, draft and beam of the prospective vessel you expect to own and place on a mooring if one was offered to you. Once you are on the Waiting List, you may update the data about your prospective vessel at any time on the Online Mooring system.
6. If you currently own a vessel registered in the State of Connecticut, you must include all the required information about your vessel on this Mooring Waiting List application.
7. Your complete Mooring Waiting List initial application must include full payment of the non-refundable $50 Mooring Waiting List application fee. This $50 fee will be credited toward your first-year annual mooring permit fee if you accept an offered mooring location in the future. This fee is only assessed with your initial application to be on the Mooring Waiting List; there is currently no fee assessed when you submit your mandatory annual Mooring Waiting List application renewal to retain your position on the waiting list. As part of this initial Mooring Waiting List application process you will be directed from the Online Mooring system to the PayPal payment processing site where you can securely make your $50 payment. For your convenience, at PayPal you may choose to make your payment by credit card or from your bank checking account.
8. If you cannot submit your initial Mooring Waiting List application and payment using the Online Mooring system and PayPal, please contact the Harbor Master at 203-919-7989 or HarborMaster@fairfieldct.org to complete your initial Mooring Waiting List application process by mail.

I understand that my vessel must be properly registered in Connecticut in order to obtain a mooring location and permit. If I receive a mooring permit, I must comply with any and all conditions that may be included in that permit and with the duly adopted rules and procedures of the Fairfield Harbor Management Commission for mooring and anchoring vessels in Southport Harbor.
I also understand:
1. I have 15 days following my receipt of a written notice from the Harbor Master to accept a mooring location offered to me by the Harbor Master;
2. My name shall be removed from the mooring waiting list if I fail to respond within 15 days to any written offer from the Harbor Master for a mooring location;
3. Upon acceptance of a mooring location, I shall have 30 days to submit a complete mooring permit application and all necessary fees, charges, and supporting documentation to the Harbor Master or else the mooring location offered to me shall be offered to the next senior qualified applicant on the mooring waiting list;
4. A one-time option to defer acceptance of a mooring location offered to me by the Harbor Master is available to me if I request to defer such acceptance in writing and within 15 days of receipt of the Harbor Master’s offer. In this case, I will retain my position on the mooring waiting list but there is no guarantee that a mooring location will be available to me in the future; and
5. A second refusal by me to accept a mooring location offered to me by the Harbor Master shall result in my name being moved to the bottom position at that time on the mooring waiting list.
6. I am responsible for promptly updating the Harbor Master throughout the year of any changes to the information I have provided in this mooring waiting list application by entering the updated application information in the Online Mooring system.
